When Was United Door & Dock Founded?
So, Mike and I started United Door and Dock down the street from Strongdor five years ago. We started with just us and a couple of technicians, and now we’ve grown to 50 people. To do that in five years is pretty incredible. We did that by doing things differently than before, offering innovative products to our customers and providing a different culture than what people usually expect out of a place. With innovative products, Strongdor is definitely one of those.
What Sets Strongdor Apart?
Some of the things that really help us with the installation of Strongdor’s products are the auto-adjusting frame. The training takes a lot less time for our technicians because of the auto-adjusting feature, and there are some things built into the door that allow us to quickly adjust once we have it in the building. We can adjust width and height very quickly, as opposed to having to do it the traditional way, like a hollow metal door.
How Does Strongdor Impact On-Site Installation Time?
The time to install a Strongdor door is significantly less. It all depends on the building that we’re up against, but I would say a good rule of thumb is half the time. And then, it’s just - it’s an easier process too, right? So, there’s always going to be obstacles to getting into the area. What was the existing frame like? And getting it to the point where we can install a new door, whether it’s a Strongdor or someone else’s door. But once we get to that point, the install is so much smoother, and that just results in saving time.
What Sets Strongdor Apart?
One of the biggest thoughts I have on Strongdor would be that, you know, we touch these doors and go in them every day, and we just get used to the way it is. Right? Like, that’s just the way the door is. Or we always have, you know, the customers, we just replace the doors every five years-it’s just the way it is-or every two years-it’s just the way it is-due to the salt and everything that we have to incur. But it’s really important to know that there’s a new way to do things, and this is it.
